The Stennis Program for Congressional Interns concluded its first session of the 116th Congress on July 26, 2019. Throughout the summer, participants met with senior congressional staff and other interns from throughout the country in a series of weekly discussion sessions that explored various aspects of the workings of Congress and how it interacts with other institutions in Washington, D.C.
It is a bipartisan, bicameral leadership development program for summer interns of the United States Congress. Senior Stennis Fellows support this six-week program as part of their ongoing effort to promote congressional public service.
