On November 19, 2019, Senior Stennis Congressional Staff Fellows participated in a panel as part of the government-wide orientation for new members of the career Senior Executive Service (SES) and SES equivalents. The U.S. Office of Personnel Management, through its Federal Executive Institute and in conjunction with the White House Presidential Personnel Office, conducts the SES orientation twice each calendar year. Members of the SES serve in key positions just below the top Presidential appointees and are the primary link between these appointees and the rest of the Federal workforce. The event included more than 230 new career SES and SES equivalents from 32 Federal departments and agencies.

Senior Stennis Congressional Staff Fellows participated in a panel titled, Leadership across Boundaries: Conversation with a Panel of Senior Stennis Congressional Staff Fellows. The purpose of the panel was for congressional staff leaders to better assist newly minted SES members in their interactions with the legislative branch.
