Public Service Review: fall 2022

Fall represents a time for transformation; the transformation of foliage, as lush greens turn to vibrant shades of orange, red, and yellow, reminds us to reflect and embrace change with the new season. In the fall 2022 edition of Public Service Review, you will meet eight new authors as they welcome change and embrace new experiences in the public service sector through professional or volunteer opportunities.

This edition of Public Service Review features seven new reflections from former congressional interns on Capitol Hill. In this edition, we feature reflections from former interns Jennifer Rivera Galindo, Mini Ganesh, Natalie Gilbert, Kathleen Griffith, Jagaar Halverson, McKayla Steineke, and Ethan Sanders, who provide their individual perspectives on the congressional service experience.

You can also read Mia Robertson’s interview with Alanna Cronk to learn more about Alanna’s organization, 1AC-cessibility, a community organization dedicated to making speech and debate more equitable for disabled participants. Alanna’s article, “1AC-CESSIBILITY: Let’s make high school speech and debate accessible for everyone,” was featured in the fall 2021 edition of Public Service Review.

Their stories offer an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable perseverance of our nation’s youth and instill a renewed sense of hope as we enter the autumn season. As we say farewell to the carefree days of summer, we welcome this new change with open arms.
