The application process is now open for 2019 Young Leaders of Color Leadership Training.

To reach our potential as a nation, America needs young men and women of color to reach their potential as future leaders at the local, state and federal levels. Join the Stennis Center for Public Service for a program designed for rising ninth and tenth graders to develop leadership skills and break barriers that too often stand in the way. This year’s Young Leaders of Color Leadership Training program will be on June 22, 2019, 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Lake Terrace Convention Center in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Applications are available online and are due no later than Saturday, June 1, 2019.

Session topics include:

Advocacy: Learn to influence decisions within political, economic, and social systems and institutions.

Leadership: Learn the skills to lead or guide other individuals, teams, or organizations.

Communication: Learn to effectively communicate so that your message is understood and received by your audience.

Social Media: Learn to utilize social media tools to share your ideas, thoughts, and initiate change in your community.
