Mia Robertson, Program Assistant​

Mia Robertson is a junior Presidential-Endowed Scholar and John C. Stennis Scholar majoring in political science with minors in pre-law and sociology in the Mississippi State University (MSU) Shackouls Honors College. She works as a program assistant for the Stennis Center for Public Service, where she develops resources for schools hoping to excel in speech and debate on the high school level. With hopes of expanding access to speech and debate to underserved school districts and communities, Mia has created guides to coach student competitors and materials to equip coaches to lead successful teams.

Currently, Mia serves as the MSU Speech and Debate Council president, a team she has participated in for two years. During her time on the collegiate speech and debate circuit, Mia has earned three National Championships in IPDA Debate, making her MSU’s first national champion in speech and debate. Mia is also a State Champion in Persuasive Speaking and a Regional Champion in Team IPDA Debate. Furthermore, Mia is the Co-Founder of BARS, an MSU student organization dedicated to criminal justice. In the MSU Student Association Cabinet, Mia serves as a co-director of Community and Governmental Relations, where she coordinates voter registration drives on MSU’s campus.
